Southern Wake (SOWA) Wrestling is the newest addition to the Strong Center 4 Excellence

The Strong Center is proud to announce the addition of a wrestling program for area youth. Southern Wake (SOWA) Wrestling provides quality folk style wrestling programs for youth, middle school, and high school. We service Wake, Harnett, and Johnston Counties. Programs at age 5 and extend through 18. We will have teams for each of the following age divisions 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. Additionally, we will offer monthly clinics and periodic camps throughout the year for all age groups.

Registration for our inaugural season is open now through October 15, 2021. Conditioning will start on October 4, 2021 (Monday – Thursday). Then regular practices begin October 18, 2021. Specific dates and times for each division will be announced soon. Please see below for our current season outline:

October 04 – 15: Conditioning
October 18 – 29: Pre Season Practices
November 1 – December 17: Practices and Competition
December 17 – January 7: Break (Tournaments are available)
January 8 – 31: Practices and Competition
February 1 – March 12: Championships and Post Season Tournaments

We are looking for Coaches. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer wrestling coach, please email us at wrestling@thestrongcenter.org. Coaches must complete a interview with the Wrestling Commissioner, complete a background check, and complete a coach’s certification. More information and details are provided in the response to your email.
