We have officially opened registration for the 2022-23 Folkstyle (Scholastic) Wrestling Season for Middle and Elementary School Ages. Below are all of the details:

1) Registration Timeline: September 1 – 30, 2022

2) Parent Meeting: September 17, 2022 (Saturday) from 11am to 12pm. Location to be announced soon.

3) Conditioning: We will not conduct pre-season conditioning in September this year. We have decided it is best to add conditioning to the first month of practice (first 15 and last 15 minutes of practice will focus on conditioning).

4) Season dates: OCT 3, 2023 – FEB, 25 2023

5) Practices:
a) Elementary Ages: Tues & Thurs 6 – 7:30pm
b) Middle School Ages: Mon & Wed 6 – 8pm.

Note: This may change depending on registration numbers and skill of wrestlers. If we have enough wrestlers ready to compete at higher levels, we will split into Red and Black Squads, then add additional practice times on same days. 6) Practice Location: Optimist Club Farm, 2930 Optimist Farm Rd, Apex, NC
Costs: We have four plans to choose from this year

a) All inclusive: $600 includes all practices, one singlet, headgear, practice uniform, and all tournament fees for wrestlers (normally have 8 to 10 tournaments in a season). Only thing you provide is wrestling shoes. (Members that have a Southern Wake Singlet that they wish to reuse will receive a discounted rate) b) Basic Membership: $400 includes all practices, a practice uniform, and entry fees for two tournaments. The singlet can be purchased separately or wrestler can borrow one for matches. Any additional tournaments beyond the two included must be paid separately. You must provide you own headgear and shoes. c) Practice Only: $300 includes practices and one practice uniform. Wrestlers can participate in matches and tournaments but must pay entry fees. Singlets and other gear can be purchased separately as well. You must provide you own headgear and shoes for practices. d) Pay As You Go: $15 one time registration fee plus $75 per month or $10 per practice. Wrestlers can participate in matches and tournaments but must pay entry fees. Singlets and other gear can be purchased separately as well. You must provide you own headgear and shoes for practices. The pay as you go plan can be upgraded to any other membership level if done so within the first month.
